How do I get to Friedens Church?
Friedens Church is located in Guadalupe County, near the community of Geronimo. Services have been held continuously at our facility for over 100 years!
We are only 40 minutes south of Austin, and 40 minutes east of San Antonio conveniently located in between I-35 and I-10 near the cities of San Marcos, New Braunfels and Seguin. Just click on the maps link on this website for detailed directions.
What time do your services start?
We have two worship services: a traditional service that begins at 9:00 AM, and the New Connections contemporary service beginning at 11:05 AM.
Children's Sunday School is held in the Activities Building from 10:05 AM- 10:55 AM.
Do I have to dress up?
We always encourage people to come as they are, to dress comfortably. For some folks, that may mean dressing up but for many that means wearing casual clothes.
Where will my children go during the Service?
Your children will love Friedens Church! Children ages 6 and up are welcome in the church for worship. Each service has a children's moment with the pastors, and activity pages and books are availble for your children to take to their seats. One of our key strengths is the fun, hands on activities and lessons every Sunday morning at Sunday School designed especially for them. Children's Sunday School classes are from 10:05 AM - 10:55. We also provide a safe, cozy nursery for your infants up until the age of five. All of our nursery workers are background checked and CPR certified!
What kind of music do you have?
In the 9:00 AM Traditional worship our music is a mix of classical, traditional, and an occasional contemporary anthem.
In the 11:05 AM New Connections worshipwe use a blend of musical styles to give thanks to God. Our full band including drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and vocals use a great mix of new and old.
In all forms and styles, the focus of all of our worship is to bring glory to God, and to support and encourage each other in our journey of faith.
What denomination is Friedens Church?
Friedens Church is in covenant with the United Church of Christ. We are a connectional church, connected to our brothers and sisters who are also in the denomination and together we can impact the world and spread the love of Christ. The beauty and strength of the United Church of Christ is that each local congregation has great autonomy in terms of theology, church government, and general structure of the church. We recognize that just as individual churches contain great diversity in terms of thoughts, practices, and theology, so the diversity amongst churches in the United Church of Christ also exists.
