Historic Friedens Church is located in the beautiful farmland of Geronimo, Texas. Friedens United Church of Christ has faithfully served the Geronimo, Seguin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos communities of Texas since 1896. The church was founded deep in the heart of Texas by German pioneers who settled the land as farmers and ranchers.

Friedens means "Peace" in the German language, and the Peace of Christ is at the heart of our life and faith.

Today you will find both a traditional and contemporary community of faith comprised of the diverse culture of South Central Texas. Our families live on the farms and ranches of historic Geronimo, and in the new neighborhoods of the growing metropolitan areas between San Antonio and Austin.

  • Ministry Architects Listening Sessions

    Save the Dates! Consultants with  Ministry Architects will hold Listening Sessions on September 23rd & 24th. Sessions are 75 minutes long. Members can choose one session to attend.

  • Sunday Worship Services

    Worship Services are each Sunday at 10:00 AM, in-person at church and live-streaming on Facebook; recorded service is uploaded each week on You Tube

  • Friedens Faith Factory (Children's Sunday School)

       Friedens Faith Factory (Children's Sunday School for ages Pre-K- 5th grade, and Youth 6th-8th grades) is held each Sunday at 10:00 AM  Children and Youth are dismissed with their leaders following the Children's message during the worship service to the Activities Center . Friedens Faith Factory ends following the worship service.

     

  • Compass Youth

    Youth Grades 6th-8th and 9th-12th are invited to join us every Sunday for food, fun, faith and meeting new friends.

    Compass Cooperative Youth Ministry is comprised of 4 local churches: Emaunel's Lutheran, Friedens Church, Spirit of Joy Lutheran and St. Andrew's Episcopal who have joined together to provide a safe and welcoming place for youth to gather on a weekly basis.

    Sunday Gatherings are held on Sundays  6pm-7pm at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 416 Dolle Ave. Seguin ( next door to the Seguin Police Department)  There is no cost for youth to attend.

    Parents/guardians are welcome to stay during the gathering.

  • Nursery Available Sunday Mornings

    A nursery is available for children 5 years old and younger. The nursery room is located in the educational building nearest the Sanctuary. Parents may bring their children directly to the nursery before worship at 10:00 a.m., or bring their children to worship and have the children go to the nursery after the Children's message.

  • Bible Study Group

    Bible Studies are offered each Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the church. The 10:00 AM study led by Pastor Dave takes place in the Bormann Conference Room in the Activities Center. 

     

  • Choir Rehearsal

    The Church Choir rehearses each Wednesday 7:00-8:00 PM in the Choir Room.
